Hands-on practical day for recently qualified nurses covering anaesthesia, dermatology, bladder ultrasound and suturing.
About this Event

This practical day is designed specifically for recently qualified veterinary nurses and focuses on building confidence in core clinical skills through hands-on learning.

The day will include:

Anaesthesia practical, covering monitoring, patient safety, and best practice
Dermatology nursing, including common conditions and practical approaches
Bladder ultrasound practical, developing confidence with imaging and patient handling
Suture practical, focusing on technique, materials, and wound management

Part of Langford Academy’s Recently Qualified Nurse Scheme, this practical day is open to veterinary nurses in the early years of their career, regardless of route of qualification. It offers a supportive environment to consolidate skills, ask questions, and learn alongside peers.

The course is expected to run from 09:00–16:00 on the Langford Campus. Timings, topics, and session content are subject to change, with final details shared closer to the event.
