Recent Work by Patrick Willett
This aptly titled exhibition consists of a new body of works on paper by Patrick Willett that represent his evolution as an artist and his efforts to “capture the rhythms and energy that surrounds us.” These visually rich works of ink and watercolor were created over the last few years, many during the Covid lock-down that so changed our world.
The artist describes these recent paintings, many painted in series as a “therapy of sorts for me.” The inspiration for them relates to “ the natural phenomena that sustains and heals us while we flow through our lives.”
Patrick Willett is a contemporary American visual artist known for his highly detailed work in watercolor and ink. Willett’s work explores our sense of place and direction often focusing on the details of places and objects burned into our memory. His work frequently evokes ancient archeological patterns juxtaposed into our contemporary world.
