About this Event
Celebrating the New Liturgy of the Hours
The Liturgy of the Hours is the Church’s daily prayer, sanctifying the day and drawing clergy and faithful more deeply into the rhythm of the liturgical year. With the forthcoming new English translation, the Church is given a renewed opportunity to receive, teach, and celebrate this prayer more fully in parish and communal life.
Join clergy, pastoral leaders, musicians, and liturgical ministers for a day of theological reflection and practical guidance on praying and introducing the Liturgy of the Hours in parishes and institutions. This conference will explore both the structure of the Hours and their pastoral celebration, with particular attention to music, hymnody, and the Church’s most solemn days.
Topics and presentations will include:
- Introducing the Liturgy of the Hours into parish life
- The new hymns of the Liturgy of the Hours
- Musical and pastoral considerations for celebrating the Hours
- The celebration of the Hours during the Sacred Triduum
Whether you are new to the Hours or already praying them regularly, this conference offers an opportunity to deepen understanding, strengthen practice, and prepare for the Church’s reception of the new translation.
Lunch is included, along with time for discussion and shared prayer.
