Rebirth - dance of death, eros and desireFrom the liminal dark of Samhain through to the early emergence of Spring this 3 module committed ongoing group is designed to carry us through the annual death & rebirth cycle of Nature.
Our human bodies belong to the earth and are intimately connected to the seasons and cycles of the natural world. We can access deep rooted wisdom, purpose and the joy of co-creation when we connect to the cycle of nature within ourselves and act as conscious participants in the winter/spring journey from death to rebirth that takes places every year.
Supported by the core movement resources of Open Floor practice and teachings from the chakra system we will explore through movement, enquiry, somatic dance and stillness what arises for us as we engage with the powerful forces of death, eros and desire. We will look at how they shape us, what we brace against, what medicine they bring and what they are inviting us to embody and become.
Module 1 Death - Modern culture teaches us to fear death and darkness, yet it is in this place of deep surrender to the mystery of the formless realms that all new life is germinated and prepared for birthing into our world. Through the lens of death as life and life as death we can play with the dance of letting go and surrendering to the void, to allow what no longer serves us to be released and transformed.
Module 2 Eros - Eros is the vital life force energy rising from the earth through the pelvic centre and experienced as the current of sensuality, longing and creative expression in human beings. It is this sensual current that fertilises the seeds of the new cycle that will become visible in the returning light of springtime, and is what we will encourage through embodied practice as we travel.
Module 3 Desire - At the root of every act of creation sits the energy of desire, moving towards what it wants, seeking to satisfy the urge to create, to become visible and manifest in this world. Many of us were conditioned to hold back our desire through a culture that taught us to deny, to judge, shame or control our wants and dreams. Our final module will invite us to embrace our sexual life force, the energy that creates our world and everything in it and fuels the rebirth of our new evolution.
In the dance we meet the mystery of life moving through us, we practice listening and following what unfolds, this expands our capacity for presence and opens doorways to our essential self, empowering us to remember who we are and to align with what matters most.

Online sessions : There will be two online sessions that will take place between modules to support the journey. If you cannot attend live you will receive the recording will be available

Carol works as a counsellor, movement therapist and Open Floor somatic dance teacher in Ireland. She draws on her early training in bodywork, energy medicine and animism to support embodiment of heart, mind and soul.
