About this Event
Real-World Skills & Readiness Lab™: Infusion Therapy Edition
This is not a lecture. This is hands-on, simulation-based infusion therapy training designed for nurses, new grads, IENs, and nursing students who want to feel genuinely confident managing IV therapy — not just following steps, but understanding the why behind every decision.
📍 What You’ll Practice
• IV Fluids, Medications & Delivery: isotonic, hypotonic and hypertonic solutions; vesicant vs non-vesicant; bolus, continuous and intermittent infusions; reconstitution principles
• Rate, Safety & Titration: pump programming, gravity titration hands-on practice, high alert medications and error prevention
• Site Assessment & Monitoring: infiltration vs extravasation, phlebitis grading, when to discontinue and escalate
🧠 How It Works
Sessions are delivered in a small-group format at the ND Simulation Centre using real clinical equipment and scenario-based learning. You won’t just watch — you’ll do. Every skill is paired with the clinical rationale behind it so you leave with both the technique and the understanding.
📌 A Note on Documentation
While this session is not an accredited program, a Certificate of Completion is provided to all attendees upon finishing the workshop.
⚡ Spots are limited. This is a small-group format designed for optimal simulation learning.
🏟️ Early Bird: $85 (limited time) · Regular: $100 · Via Eventbrite
