Ready for Youth Work is a practical, engaging course designed to support youth workers and volunteers who are new to youth work or looking to build confidence in their role.
The course introduces participants to the National Youth Work Framework alongside other essential elements of effective youth work practice. Through a mix of discussion, hands-on activities and group learning, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to plan and deliver meaningful youth work sessions.
This course aims to empower you to:
-Create safe, supportive and inclusive environments for young people
-Plan, deliver and evaluate fun, engaging youth work sessions
-Meaningfully involve young people in youth group activities
-Build awareness Child Protection policies and procedures
⚠️ Please note: The Child Protection Awareness sessions are introductory and non-accredited, designed to build understanding and confidence rather than provide formal qualifications as a stand along unit.
Accreditation
Participants can work towards SCQF Level 3 accreditation through completion of their own Dynamic Youth Award.

Youth worker training is in high demand – please help us support youth workers to access the training and development they deserve with these simple steps:
- Tell us if you cannot attend more than 24hrs in advance. This allows us to free up the space for another youth worker (many sessions are oversubscribed) and means you will avoid being charged the £25 fee for late-notice cancellation or non-attendance.
- Check you can join with camera and microphone. Our online training is engaging, interactive and discussion-based – not a webinar format. Our members regularly tell us this is better learning and we are confident you will gain more.
- Eventbrite sends you all your information by email. You will receive your ticket at booking and be sent a reminder – with any login details if online – approximately 24hrs in advance. If there are materials and handouts, your facilitator will send these too.
