Peg Guilfoyle is the author of The Guthrie Theater: Images, History, and Inside Stories (Nodin Press), which won a Midwest Book Award and an Independent Publishers Award, and Offstage Voices: Life in Twin Cities Theater (Minnesota Historical Society Press). Her commentary and essays have appeared in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Minnesota Women’s Press, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, on Minnesota Public Radio, and elsewhere. Peg's latest book is An Eye For Joy: Noticing The Good World Everywhere, published in November by Sea Crow Press, and she is the author of Motley Peg, a series of short essays with 800 subscribers
Patrick Hicks is the author of fifteen books, including The Collector of Names, This London, Adoptable, In the Shadow of Dora, and Across the Lake—he also wrote the critically and popularly acclaimed novel, The Commandant of Lubizec. His work has appeared on NPR, The PBS Newshour, American Life in Poetry. After living in Europe for many years, he now lives in the Midwest where he is the Writer-in-Residence at Augustana University as well as a faculty member in the MFA program at the University of Nevada Reno at Lake Tahoe. His latest book is Greater Minnesota.
Laurie Hertzel is the former long-time books editor at the Minnesota Star Tribune and the author of two memoirs, News to Me: Adventures of an Accidental Journalist, winner of a Minnesota Book Award, and Ghosts of Fourth Street: My Family, a Death, and the Hills of Duluth, newly published by the University of Minnesota Press. Her book reviews have appeared in the Boston Globe, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. She teaches in the low residence MFA program in nonfiction narrative at the University of Georgia.
Jennifer Bowen is the author of THE BOOK OF KIN, which is a finalist for the 2026 MN Book Awards. Her work has won a Pushcart Prize, a Tim McGinnis Award, and more. Her prose can be found in The Sun, Orion, The Iowa Review, The Kenyon Review and elsewhere. Jen is the founding director of the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop, mom of resilient sons, and proud resident of St. Paul's Midway neighborhood.
