Blend the joy of reading with the power of community connection. This isn’t just a reading party—it’s a quiet way to reconnect with nature, yourself, and the community. Bring your favourite book, a cozy blanket, and some snacks—you’re in for an evening of slow, intentional time in nature.
Not reading something right now? No worries! We’ll have a Rolling Book Cart, filled with books for anyone to borrow throughout the evening.
What to expect:
Meet at Canadiana Gardens in Chinguacousy Park
🧘🏽♀️ Nature Grounding Workshop
Ease into the space with a calming nature connection and mindfulness practice, helping you settle your body and mind and be present with your surroundings before diving into your book. This will be guided by Sana Ahmed, local Artist/Photographer and Certified Forest Therapy Guide.
📚 Open Reading Time
Enjoy 80 minutes of relaxed, self-guided reading or resting outdoors. Whether you’re immersed in a novel, or chatting softly with a neighbour, this time is yours.
📖 Neighbourhood Connection & Book Chats
We’ll gently shift into casual conversations—chat about what you’re reading, share recommendations, or just connect with someone new.
🌿 8:00 PM – Closing Circle
We’ll come together to reflect on what we noticed, how we felt, and what we’re carrying with us. It’s a moment to honour the land, the stories we hold, and the community we’re creating together.
This event is free and open to all—whether you’re an avid reader, a nature lover, or simply curious. Come as you are. Stay for as little or as long as you like. Let this be your pause.
Let’s read, rest, and reconnect—together.
