About this Event
Audience: District leaders, including Curriculum and Instruction and Reading/Language ToSAs
On behalf of the San Mateo County Office of Education, we are excited to invite you to the Reading Difficulties Reading Screener Publishers Event.
This event brings together representatives from schools across San Mateo County to explore and evaluate the recently state-approved screening tools designed to identify reading difficulties in alignment with Senate Bill 114. As you know, Education Code Section 53008 will require all local educational agencies (LEAs) to assess students from kindergarten to grade two for risk of reading difficulties with a screener(s) from the approved list commencing no later than the 2025–2026 school year.
During this session, participants will also utilize the Screener Adoption Toolkit to guide discussions and decision-making. As a valued education partner, this is your opportunity to learn more about each screening tool as the publishers provide an overview of its features and benefits and engage with you directly through a collaborative Q&A session.
This interactive format ensures participants gain a thorough understanding of each tool, helping them make informed decisions to support their students’ needs effectively.
Light breakfast and coffee will be provided. Email [email protected] if you have any questions.
