Read & Run on the Road: 100 Things to Do in Arlington Before You Die

Cross the Potomac and discover some of the fascinating sites in Arlington, Virginia! We'll explore several of the sites included in —giving your Arlington bucket list a jump start.

On this 5 mile, easy-paced run, we'll make our first stop at the LBJ Memorial Grove (pictured above) and run along the Mount Vernon Trail to Gravelly Point—a spot I can attest is regularly crowded with folks watching Reagan’s planes take off or land. We’ll visit plantation ruins tucked between two parking garages, see a museum dedicated to sharing America's connection to drugs (including public policy, federal drug law enforcement), and pay our respects at the 9/11 Memorial.

It’s rare that our authors run with us, so I’m especially excited to share that Barbara will be running the route with us. (As of Jan 13, this piece still to be confirmed.)

Info: Meet at Dupont Circle / Rear Admiral Samuel Francis Dupont Memorial between 5:45–6:00 p.m. The program will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Info: We’ll run an easy-paced (~11:00 minute/mile), 3.1 mile route based on the Avenue of the Presidents and Latino at Heart routes.

Info: After the route, we’ll enjoy delicious food at Corado's while chatting with co-author Andrea Seiger about the book and her routes. (Please be prepared to cover your own meal costs.)
