Reach Out & Focus: Maryland Outreach Listening Sessions
Shaping the Future of the Statewide Outreach Conference
Outreach work is changing — and so are the needs of the communities we serve.
For years, the Maryland Statewide Outreach Conference has centered professionals in the HIV/STD arena. While that legacy remains important, outreach skills extend far beyond any single focus area. Today, outreach workers support communities across public health, behavioral health, housing, harm reduction, maternal health, chronic disease, youth engagement, violence prevention, and more.
It’s time to broaden the conversation.
Why We’re Hosting Listening Sessions
Before reconvening the Maryland Statewide Outreach Conference, we are hosting bi-monthly listening sessions throughout the year to hear directly from YOU — the outreach professionals, peer workers, community health workers, navigators, and frontline leaders doing this work every day.
We want to know:
- What skills are most needed in today’s outreach landscape?
- What challenges are you facing in the field?
- What training would strengthen your impact?
- What topics are often overlooked?
- How can a statewide conference truly reflect the realities of outreach work across Maryland?
Who Should Attend?
We welcome outreach professionals and leaders from across sectors, including:
- Community Health Workers/Educators
- Patient Navigators
- Disease Intervention Specialists
- Linkage to Care Specialists
- Harm Reduction Specialists
- Case Managers

If your role involves relationship-building, engagement, navigation, trust-building, or community-based connection — this space is for you.
