What is Somatic Dance?
This Somatic Dance experience is held within a respectful setting, providing a place to express, explore and move for exploration. It is a space to gather to reclaim the joy, healing and freedom that dancing brings, in a non-judgmental space. No matter your level of expertise, this is an inclusive space that welcomes everyone to explore and discover at your own pace. Every aspect of the experience is offered as an invitation, honouring your individuality and autonomy.
There are no set moves, no right or wrong steps, simply a space to move and be free as you explore your physical, emotional and energetic body. This dance is not about adhering to rules. It's about embracing the freedom to release yourself to the music and let go of that nagging judging mind. Trust yourself, and the journey, then allow the dance to unfold naturally.
The invitation is open to all. Bring your curiosity, a water bottle and wear layers to shed, items of comfort for your sound journey, (there will be some props, blankets & bolsters available).
