Welcome to the Rathkeale Christmas Fête 2025! Now in its 22nd year, the Fête offers shoppers loads of inspiration. Stallholders will be selling festive decorations, clothing, arts and crafts, as well as flowers, toys and plants – there is something for everyone.
Gourmet food is also a highlight – with freshly made gourmet burgers, lamb & mint sausages, wraps, curry, salads, and the ever-popular berries and icecream available for purchase. Devonshire Tea served in the Rathkeale Homestead rose garden is a time-honoured tradition while refreshing cold drinks can be sipped on as visitors listen to live music performed by students at various times throughout the day. The popular home baking stall features again this year, and visitors are encouraged to get in early as the Christmas cakes, in particular, often sell out by midday.
The beauty of this Fête is it is a day out for the whole family. In addition to the 120 plus indoor and outdoor stalls, there is plenty to entertain the children with face painting and three magic shows during the day to round out the fun.
Visitors can meander around the beautiful campus and enjoy the unique surroundings including the school gardens designed by Alfred Buxton, the Greek Amphitheatre and the 3km eco-trail which weaves through large stands of native trees, including ancient kahikatea.
The Christmas Fête is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year and comes about thanks to an amazing collaboration between the Friends of Rathkeale College, staff and students.
