About Raspy Berries:
Raspy Berries, which consists of Ida Kæraa Lücke and Asta Dea Nistad Evensen, is an up-coming band from the underground live-music of Copenhagen. Their debut-single “No panties” feat. B'vek Pakuwal seduces with a juicy groove and an intimate power-vocal.
Raspy Berries distinct sound is a result of the dogma that the musical arrangement of the songs are possible to play in a live-setting by Asta, the multiinstrumentalist of the band. This means that Asta plays drums and keyboard at the same time. This creative constraint gives an experimental and minimalistic sound, where every detail counts, and the different parts of the instrumental merge into one dance. The result is a groove with keyboard inspired by Soul and Glamrock and rhythms inspired by Rock and R’n’B.
Through experimental playful vocal, tasty attitude, soulful depth and jazzy sound, front-singer Ida conveys stories with sincerity and strength.
Raspy Berries is an intersectional feminist band, that fights for diversity. Their songs are written from the point of view of a young person navigating difficult taboo subjects like sexuality, gender, dreams and trauma, and handle these themes with a raw, unfiltered intimacy and inclusive heartfeltness.
Raspy Berries’ overall sound is juicy and delicious as a berry, and raw and intimate as a raspy voice of a young woman who, late at night, is contemplating about all the spectrums of identity and social inequality.
