Raspberry Pi Youth Coding Camp
Event Location: GVSU Innovation Design Center
Join us for an exciting, hands-on coding experience at the Raspberry Pi Youth Coding Camp! Designed for ages 11–14, this 5-hour class introduces students to real-world computing through engaging, interactive stations using Raspberry Pi devices. Students will rotate through a variety of STEM activities in small groups, learning coding and hardware skills while building confidence and curiosity.
Core topics include:
- Turtle Coding: Learn programming concepts by drawing with Python
- GoPiGo robot navigation and object detection
- Web Design: Learn to design a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Drone Coding: Program drones and test obstacle course challenges
- Benchmarking Raspberry Pi performance
Space is limited to 20 students. Each camper receives a t-shirt and a Raspberry Pi computer to take home.
Cost is $75 per student. Scholarships are available for anyone in financial need. To apply, please fill out our scholarship application form prior to registration.
This event wouldn't be possible without our incredible volunteers! To ensure the safety of all students, volunteers must undergo a Michigan State Police Criminal Background Check and adhere to our Volunteer Code of Conduct and Youth Protection Policy.
Campers will work with their very own Raspberry Pi and receive guided instruction at each station. Sign up today to secure your spot in this fun and educational tech camp!
