The young Danish piano sensation Rasmus Sørensen and his international trio will peform at Bellevue Jazz Saturday 27/4. This is a fantastic group with one of Swedens most in demand bass players Jon Henriksson and the critically acclaimed Italien drummer Francesco Ciniglio rounding out the band. Here is a short background about the ensemble:"Danish pianist, composer and improviser Rasmus Sørensen gained wide recognition for his accessible yet forward-looking sound both as a musician and composer. Having collaborated with a vast array of artists across genres over the years as well as having toured extensively, his debut trio album Traits was released june 17th 2022 and exhibits Rasmus' perception of the world around us through his musical scope. Featuring italian drummer Francesco Ciniglio and swedish bassist Jon Henriksson, the eclectic trio simultaneously honors and transcends the jazz idiom, with a pleasantly surprising and often catchy sonic result. March 15th 2024 saw the release of a trio album entitled Balancing Act by Rasmus featuring renowned bassist Alex Claffy and Blue-Note drummer Kendrick Scott, a culmination of the five years Rasmus lived in New York City from 2018-2023. Now he has returned to his original trio that will perform new and captivating music to be recorded on their next album shortly after the concert date."
