About this Event
Asalam Alaikum Youth Sisterhood!
Join us on October 12th from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. for the 'Raranga Kete Workshop' - a hands on guided experience to weave your very own bag.
In honour of Māori Language Week, this workshop offers an introduction to raranga, the traditional art of Māori weaving. You'll learn about the rich history of raranga and explore various techniques to begin weaving your own bag, which you can complete at home. This hands-on event provides all necessary materials and fosters cross-cultural appreciation, reflecting the Qur'anic purpose of learning about and understanding different communities.
