Ramuel Tafenau is one of the brightest drummers of the younger generation in Estonia. Being an active musician and collaborating with several jazz musicians from Estonia and Finland (including Joel Remmel Trio, Paul Daniel, Hedvig Hanson, Kristjan Järvi, NOËP, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Erki Pärnoja, Sander Mölder, Raivo Tafenau, Liisi Koikson, Jukka Eskola, Joonatan Rautio, Eero Koivistoinen etc), he has performed at several festivals and tours in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Germany and Croatia.
Ramuel Tafenau Quartet will take the listener to a musical journey and will feature original compositions from his album which is mainly influenced by Pat Metheny and Janek Gwizdala. Airy compositions, beautiful and catchy melodies, dynamics and skillful instrument play - these are just a few of the keywords that describe this quartet’s sound on the stage. Ramuel has invited his good friends and possibly the most engaged Estonian and Latvian jazz musicians to play in his group - Artis Boriss (LV) on keyboards, Kristen Kütner on guitars and Janno Trump on bass
In December 2019, after a long thinking, recording and producing process his debut album “Gather Around” was released. Album consists of 8 instrumental pieces written and produced by Ramuel Tafenau himself.
He believes that Pat Metheny Group's excellent sound and accompaniment, Janek Gwizdala's atmospheric environment and Antonio Sanchez's high-tech tight drumming are his strongest creative influences. “The tracks are carefully composed, free of randomness and freedomness of milder mood jazz. However, his music gives a free-flowing and dynamic expression; there is no sense of artificiality that you can hear in today’s technically complex jazz”. by Hedvig Hanson

Zum acht Mal wird mit einem eigenen Berliner Festival der Reichtum des europäischen Jazz mit seinen unterschiedlichen Wurzeln, Dialekten und neuen Entwicklungen vorgestellt.
Neben den wunderbaren Musikern aus viele europäischen Ländern, veranstalten in diesem Jahr europäische Kulturinstitute und Botschaften aus dem EUNIC Berlin Netzwerk mit ihren Partnern das Festival.
Jede einzelne Band präsentiert dabei eigene Kompositionen und interpretiert bekannte Stücke aus ihrem jeweiligen Land neu oder in freier Improvisation. Darüber hinaus werden die Künstler ihre musikalische Herkunft aber auch auf neue Art miteinander verbinden, wenn jeden Abend Musiker verschiedener Kulturen direkt aufeinandertreffen.
