About this Event
About Ram Dass:
Born Richard Alpert (1931–2019), Ram Dass was a Harvard psychologist turned spiritual teacher whose groundbreaking book Be Here Now helped bring Eastern philosophy to Western culture. After a transformative journey in India, he became a student of Maharaj-ji (Neem Karoli Baba) and embraced a life devoted to love, service, and inner awakening.
About the Gathering:
We’ll begin with snacks and easy socializing, then gently settle into japa, the sacred repetition of mantra, like a hearth we gather around in the quiet of winter. This season invites rest, inward listening, and letting the soul breathe. After our mantra meditation, we’ll listen to a Ram Dass lecture on japa and open into heartfelt conversation about what it means to remember the divine in the stillness, and how that affects our way of being.
We invite you to bring water, a notebook, and mala beads (if you have them, but they’re not required!).
This event is organized by Jen Guyton and Stuart Alexander and will be held at Connection Health Center.
