Dry January is over — let’s ease back in, ACC-style.Kick off February with a guided beer and cider walking tour in Raleigh’s Whitaker Mill neighborhood, where great pours and great hoops go hand in hand. This relaxed Saturday afternoon experience is perfect for easing back into alcohol while soaking up local flavor — both in the glass and on the screen.
You’ll sample craft beer and cider at Lynnwood Brewing Concern and East Bower Cidery, and learn about the evolution of craft beer in Raleigh and across North Carolina. No doubt the afternoon’s ACC basketball games will be on the big screens, so you can sip, and keep an eye on the action while you’re there.
The stops are just a short walk apart, making this an easy, social way to explore one of Raleigh’s most walkable craft beverage pockets.
Your guide is Natalie Hampton, owner of Taps & Corks Tours. Natalie has been writing about North Carolina beer and wine for 12 years on the Tarheel Taps & Corks blog. She enjoys sharing her passion for North Carolina beer through walking tours, and always looks forward to fall seasonal beers and ciders.
Note: You must be 21 to participate. Tour is rain or shine. Wear good shoes for walking and clothing appropriate for the weather – we’ll be outside for at least part of our exploration. Plan to arrive at the brewery 10 minutes early to park at the venue and locate the group.
