About this Event
Discover something new about the Warehouse district by taking this unique Pride walking tour! Raleigh is home to a thriving LGBTQIA+ community, which has evolved over the decades. Points of interest will include safe spaces and other landmarks, as well as an introduction to notable events and figures.
This tour is pay-what-you-want ! If you enjoy the tour, please compensate your guide appropriately! CASH OR VENMO PAYMENTS ONLY please! Usually, the guide receives $15 to $20 per adult, but you are free to give more or less than that, depending on how you feel about your tour. As you can imagine, the tour guide has to work hard to earn your appreciation!
Advance registration is REQUIRED. We need to monitor the number of people on the tour, and we also need to be able to communicate with you if the tour needs to be cancelled for any reason.
This tour requires a minimum number of signups in order to run! If the minimum number is not reached, the tour will be cancelled. You will receive either a tour confirmation email with some last minute details or a cancellation email through Eventbrite no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of the tour. Please check your email the day before the tour and please read any email that you receive about the tour through Eventbrite!
The tour will start and end in the Warehouse District at Commerce Place. This is a one-block street that runs between Martin and Davie streets. Commerce Place is right next to The Pit restaurant and across the street from Crank Arm Brewery and the Videri Chocolate Factory. Putting any of these locations into Google Maps or a similar app should allow you to easily find Commerce Place. We will be starting at the intersection of Commerce Place and Davie Street.
The tour leaves the starting point quickly, so please be on time!
Because it's June and it will probably be hot, I won't keep you out in the heat for too long! The Pride walking tours are approximately 45 minutes long, but may be slightly longer depending on the size and speed of the group.
This tour will take place entirely within the downtown Sip n' Stroll district! But you do not need to buy a drink to participate in the tour -- this is not a pub crawl!! While we will not be making any specific stops for drinks, please feel free to arrive early and purchase a drink at a nearby place like Crank Arm Brewery, the Pit, or Boxcar Bar & Arcade before the tour starts. You can find a list of all participating Sip n' Stroll establishments here: https://raleighnc.gov/doing-business/services/sip-n-stroll/sip-n-stroll-downtown-participating-locations
PLEASE NOTE: You are not permitted to bring your own alcohol to this event! All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from a participating establishment and must be in a specific Sip n' Stroll plastic cup with a date & timestamp, so you also cannot use a koozie with your beverage because the details on the cup need to be visible throughout the tour.
Anyone who is under the age of 21 is more than welcome to participate in the tour, but WITHOUT an alcoholic beverage!
Once the tour starts, we will not be stopping for any drinks along the route, so please make sure that you have a beverage at the start of the tour if you want one!
Street parking in Raleigh is free on Fridays at most locations after 6:00 pm and is free all day on Saturdays and Sundays. If you prefer to park in a deck, there are several decks and parking lots in the area to choose from. You can find more information about parking downtown at https://raleighnc.gov/parking/services/find-parking-downtown/downtown-parking-locations-and-maps.
I am looking forward to seeing you on the tour!
