Help shape the California Center for the Arts, Escondido for the next 30 yearsSince 1994, the CCAE Foundation has managed the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, enriching over 10.5 million lives with cultural programs, arts education, and performances. The Foundation has supported local artists, reached over 100,000 students, and created a vital community hub with a local economic impact of over $4 million annually. After completing its most successful financial year, the Foundation now faces an uncertain future as the City of Escondido’s RFP invites external entities to manage the Center, potentially disrupting 30 years of community-focused leadership.
In response, we’re turning this RFP into an opportunity for our community to actively shape the future of their arts center. This is your chance to reclaim decision-making power and ensure that the Center’s direction remains rooted in the needs of Escondido. We invite everyone to a town hall meeting on November 12 at 5:30 PM in our concert hall, where you can share your thoughts and collaborate on the proposal we’ll submit to the city. This will be a fully transparent, community-driven process where every option is on the table.
Since the Center was originally established by a public vote and funded by the people, it’s only fitting that the community plays a role in determining its future programming and management. As part of this effort, our Raise Your Voice campaign encourages community members to write to elected officials, advocating for the continued leadership of the CCAE Foundation. Together, we can ensure that the California Center for the Arts remains a vital cultural hub that serves the aspirations of its citizens.
During the town hall, join us for a Q&A session, campus tours, and conclude the evening with a networking event in our conference center.
