The KCPublic Board of Directors invites you to:Raise Your Voice (and Some Cash)!
Admission is FREE at the door, but be ready to donate to a good cause. Reservations and 2 for 1 raffle tickets can be purchased in advance.
Ready to sing your heart out for a good cause? Raise Your Voice (and Some Cash) is a karaoke fundraiser full of big feelings, bad notes, and raffles, all supporting Kansas City Public Theatre. Whether you’re here to sing, cheer, or aggressively support your favorite performer, this is your chance to turn volume into impact and help fund KC Public’s mission of free professional theatre. As you may know, Federal, State, and City funding has been on the chopping block, making arts funding even harder to come by. We are currently working to raise $6,000 within the next six weeks to ensure our season moves forward as planned. We’re fortunate to have secured an anonymous ***matching sponsor*** so every dollar we raise will be doubled!
Now is the time to raise your voice to support the arts! Admission is FREE at the door, but be ready to donate to a good cause.
How it works: Doors open at 7:30 PM and the karaoke competition kicks off at 8:00 with performers taking the stage. Singers sign up on site, and each competitor gets their own voting bucket.
Audience members purchase raffle tickets and use them to vote for their favorite singer by dropping tickets into the corresponding bucket—yes, you can vote more than once, and yes, bribing your friends is encouraged.
The competition wraps up around 9:00 PM. Raffle prizes will be pulled from individual prize buckets, and the karaoke competitor with the most raffle-ticket votes takes the win The Golden Microphone. The fundraiser officially ends at 10:00 PM, but karaoke continues afterward for anyone who still has a song left in them.
