Riverdale Hub Gallery is pleased to announce “RAINING COWS” a solo exhibition by Morgan Sheardown featuring a selection of his existing works and new creations. The exhibition is on view from October 8th to November 4th open Tuesday through Saturday 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday October 17th. Enjoy refreshments and hor d’euvres while listening to a live DJ’s musical mix.
About the Artist
Morgan Sheardown the visionary artist born and raised in downtown Toronto transcends fine art and design. A graduate of OCAD University in Graphic Design his artistic vision illuminates a wealth of possibilities that extend beyond the canvas. Recognizing the potential of his work to venture into new realms he embodied his love of illustration painting and graphic design into new interdisciplinary forms.
Morgan's body of work entitled "RAINING COWS" expresses the inspiration he gets from rain colour and his appreciation of cows. He uses rain as a filter to distort and create different levels of abstraction. The cows are graphic however his work is painted on layers to the feeling of rain.
One can actually see the layers and splashes of rain creating a 3D like floating effect. The colours the clouds the rain and the graphic application all come together to create a happy and calming effect.
In these stressful and turbulent times Morgan wants "RAINING COWS" to make people happy and to make them smile. However Morgan also looks to “RAINING COWS" as his symbol of triumph withstanding the storms of his life. The widespread popularity of Morgan's work has been translated into fashion interior design and the latest revolution of the art world NFT’s.
Morgan's work has been featured in publications including The Toronto Star The Toronto Sun Global News The National Post The Globe and Mail and The Montreal Gazette. His work has been exhibited and partnered with Samsung Steam Whistle blogTO and TIFF Gallery of the Toronto Film Festival.
Alongside of having his artworks collected internationally Morgan’s fashion collection has appeared on the runway of Fashion Art Toronto during Fashion Week. Morgan was also a Semi Finalist with his feature length screenplay "Never Alone" at the 2021 International Screen Writing Competition sponsored by Scriptapalooza Hollywood's Number One Screen Writing Competition.
Morgan also contributes to numerous non-profit and arts organizations including Baycrest Hospital TELUS Brain Project Timeraiser and Stop Gap Foundation.
Morgan has worked on corporate identities fund raising campaigns brand development event promotions marketing promotions packaging digital media and Flash animation.
