After three years of planning, fundraising, and working the Rainbow Raccoon Park is set to open on Saturday, April 26 at noon. All are welcome for some food, music, to ride bikes on the new bike track, play basketball or four square on the court, or just hang out! If you want to contribute to helping make this park happen, we start the clean up that morning at 9am and the rain barrel installation workshop starts at 10am.
The raccoon sculpture will be installed in May and we are still raising money and working on future plans for the swingset, sensory installations, landscaping, and playground equipment but want to open the park so kids of all ages can start to enjoy it.
Note: The community will be doing a clean up all week, especially from 9-12. You can stop by the park to sign in that morning and get some coffee and breakfast pastries starting at 8am. 12noon on Sat, April 26 is also the place and time for Earth Day clean up volunteers to come and get a free lunch and appreciation for all the hard work.
