Happy June — and Happy Pride Month! 🌈✨For our next Rainbow Cinema Club pick, we’re celebrating Pride Month with the uplifting and inspiring British film Pride (2014)! Join us for an evening of queer history, solidarity, and community connection.
We’re also honored to welcome Sean Crumpacker from Equality Florida, who will join us for a special conversation following the film. Equality Florida works to secure full equality for Florida’s LGBTQ+ community through advocacy, education, and political action.
As always, we’ll have a post-film discussion, trivia, gift bags, and a raffle for a special giveaway! 🎟️
The goal of Rainbow Cinema Club is to help educate and uplift our community through the power of Queer storytelling — especially stories that remind us that solidarity changes history.
Snacks and water will be provided.
June’s Pick: Pride
2014 ‧ Comedy/Drama ‧ 1 hour and 59 minutes ‧ English
Directed by Matthew Warchus, the film tells the true story of a group of LGBTQ+ activists in 1984 London who raise money to support striking miners and their families in Wales — forging an unexpected and powerful alliance that would leave a lasting mark on both communities.
Rated R for language and some sexual references. Under 17: Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 or older.
