Did you know a small 8×10 foot area can generate 50 gallons of water from just one inch of rain? Cassie from the Rain Campaign will be joining us to lead this hands-on workshop. You'll discover how to capture that rainwater and put it to use in your garden — saving money, conserving water, and reducing runoff in your community. We'll cover water quality, water conservation basics, and why rain barrels are one of the most effective and affordable tools for your home and the environment. Then roll up your sleeves! With step-by-step guidance, you'll construct your very own 55-gallon rain barrel from start to finish. All materials, tools, and safety gear are provided — you just show up ready to build.
Your finished barrel goes home with you at the end of the workshop. Please plan ahead and make sure you have a vehicle that can transport a 55-gallon barrel.
Cost is $30 for materials, reimbursable by your city’s rain barrel rebate program. We’ll even help you fill out the form!
