Join us for a special Black Music Month / New York Music Month event hosted by the syndicated radio show and podcast and sonic architects Bang & Olufsen for intimate conversation and live radio show taping with Kelsey Lu.
Sheroes is a radio show and podcast that centers the creative process of women, queer folks, and the LBGTQIA+ / gender fluid community at large by spotlighting incredible guests, sharing in depth interviews, and programming GREAT new music on a weekly show that airs on stations all of North America. Each show features a curated mix of new and iconic artists, it highlights diversity, and aims to combat gender inequality in the music industry.
For this special event Sheroes welcomes Kelsey Lu, a classically trained cellist, singer-songwriter, producer, composer, poet, and performance artist born in Charlotte, North Carolina, whose artistic practice flows comfortably at the intersection of visual art, performance, healing, and music. In addition to their solo work, Lu collaborates with artists across various disciplines, from musicians such as Yves Tumor, Sampha, Florence + The Machine, and Skrillex to multidisciplinary artists such as Kahlil Joseph, Wu Tang, Precious Okoyomon, and Jacolby Satterwhite. Their second studio album, So Help Me God, drops June 12th via Dirty Hit.
