About this Event
You can expect breathing practices, gentle movement, and Restorative postures with props. This will be an invitation towards the sacredness of co-regulating with the community as we deepen our liberation movements.
Join us for Radical Rest for BIPOC every last Friday of the month! This trauma-informed offering will include Restorative Yoga, meditation, and community connection. Dominique Cowling and Rebecca Berry will alternate holding this space.
Rebecca Berry (she/her) is a certified trauma-informed and restorative yoga teacher who loves using breathwork, meditation and movement to heal herself and provide a container of space for QTBIPOC folx to return home to themselves. She is passionate about justice for those shoved to the margins, and cares deeply about how trauma and harm affect bodies in intersectional ways. As a fat, queer, Black woman, Rebecca searches for and finds her freedom through unearthing continued liberation in her body: bold pleasure and joyful learning, healing in authentic community, intense laughter and going slow and deep using gentle nourishment and tender intentionality.
Dominique (she, her) is a Bay Area native, dedicated to transforming trauma and violence into opportunities for freedom. For the past decade, she has been honored to learn & share tools for reconnection. Her former work as a Healing Justice Program Director at Community United Against Violence supported queer and Trans survivors of intimate partner violence, hate violence, and police violence through direct service and organizing. Currently, she teaches Restorative Yoga and facilitates somatic healing workshops through Reclaiming Our Own Transcendence (ROOT) www.wetakeroot.com/healing-cycles-of-harm. Her relationship witho the spirit and the natural world guides her life. As the founder of the Black Seeds Project, she provides group sessions in ritual with nature. Through these offerings, she weaves her studies in liberatory movements, psychology, ecotherapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed yoga to explore the barriers to optimal health. Each program invites attunement to the seasonal changes and wisdom of the time. Visit linktr.ee/blackseedsproject1 to see her upcoming offerings.
