About this Event
Capitalism has created a world of bullshit abundance, where we have too much of what we don’t need and too little of what we do. Through this system’s pursuit of profits, we have been put on a collision course with social and ecological limits that can no longer be ignored.
Join the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures in discussion with writer & activist Keir Milburn to discuss his book, an alternative to the current system, and crucially, how we get there.
Radical Abundance: How to Win a Green Democratic Future by Kai Heron, Keir Milburn and Bertie Russell was published by Pluto Press in September 2025.
Dr. Keir Milburn is a writer, researcher, and activist. He is co-director of Abundance, the author of Generation Left (2019), and co-presenter of the ACFM podcast for Novara Media.
He has a background as an academic in political economy and is an internationally recognised expert on economic democracy, the commons, and Public-Common Partnerships.
Reading Group
This event is pitched at a general audience, and there is no need to have read the book prior to coming along. However, in the run up to the talk, we will be running a reading group which will meet several times to discuss the book. If you are interested in joining this reading group, sign up here for further details.
