About this Event
The orchestra consists mainly of healthcare workers, including many from the John Radcliffe Hospital and other Oxford hospitals, and we have been rehearsing and performing together for over 40 years. We usually give three concerts a year in Tingewick Hall at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Each concert is in aid of one or more medical charities, and the orchestra itself is supported by the Oxford Hospitals Charity.
For this concert, we are delighted to have George Caird once again as our conductor. The programme is:
Glinka: Overture Russlan and Ludmilla
David Heath: Celtic Concerto for Soprano Saxophone with soloist Steve Guard
Respighi: The Fountains of Rome
Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No. 3 with soloist Sunil Manohar
Tickets are £15 (£5 for under 16s), and are available on the door.
The ticket price includes refreshments available after the concert.
All proceeds from this concert will go towards the Wallingford Accessible Boat Club which makes boating on the river a reality for the disabled people in Wallingford and the surrounding area.
