Nature Club – Pond Dipping for World Water Day

Celebrate World Water Day at our Nature Club spring workshop and discover an amazing aquatic eco-system at the Science Oxford Centre! Investigate different types of water and test the quality – has there been acid rain or road salt pollution? Catch and identify creatures in and around our ponds with our expert club leader, and learn about life cycles from newbie newts with fluffy gills, to larvae and baby flying insects like dragonflies, midges, damselflies. Get up close with magnifiers and microscopes - how does the food chain work, who eats who and which crazy creature comes out on top in pond-life?

What is included in your ticket:

90 minute club session for one child and accompanying adult

Access to:

- Access to the woodland and outdoor areas from 10am–5pm (last entry 4.30pm)

- Cafe 10am - 4pm

- Parking (limited availability)

What is NOT included:

- Access to the Exploration Zone

Event Details

All Nature Club sessions must be accompanied by an adult. These family workshops are designed for you and your child to learn from each other and work together while trying out new things. Led by our expert club leaders with bespoke activities designed to provide science-inspired fun challenges. There is a different theme each week so we and you are always learning something new!

£14 per club ticket (includes Eventbrite booking fee)

One child and accompanying adult

£5 additional adult/s ticket admittance to Science Club and outside areas / café. All attendees need a ticket; for under 3’s we recommend a visit to the Family Day instead.

Emira's Kitchen café at the Science Oxford Centre is open on Saturdays from 10am-4pm, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and rolls. Families are welcome to bring picnics to eat at our lunch tables.

Important notice: Centre works January - March 2025

There are necessary building improvements planned to take place at the Science Oxford Centre between January and March 2025. The outdoor lunch space at the end of our building is being enclosed to provide a weather-proof area that our visitors will be able to enjoy all year round. There should be no disruption to any indoor activities at the Science Oxford Centre for Family Day visitors or those attending clubs, but there may be temporary diversions put in place for access to the woodlands.
