Race for Grace 2026 is the primary annual fundraising gala for the Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy (KRTC) and is held each year on the Monday evening of Derby Week.This year’s gala will take place on April 27, 2026, at Churchill Downs in the First Turn Club, offering stunning views of the track and a memorable Derby Week atmosphere.
Race for Grace raises vital funds to support the spiritual and material needs of approximately 7,000 backside workers — including grooms, hot walkers, and others who care for the horses — and their families across five Kentucky-area racetracks and three training centers. Through this ministry, KRTC provides weekly meals, grocery gift cards, rent assistance, a clothing closet, family events, and ongoing spiritual support.
