
Violinist Rabia Brooke brings her expressive playing to the Nova Linea Musica stage at the CheckOut for an evening of beloved classics and bold new sounds. Joined by pianist Nathan Canfield Brooke will span three centuries of music from Tartini’s Devil’s Trill Sonata in G Minor and Brahms’s radiant Sonata No. 1 in G Major to Leoš Janáček's emotionally charged Violin Sonata.
The program also features the Chicago premiere of Niloufar Nourbakhsh’s The Intense Microscope that Sorrow Lends a vivid contemporary work that reframes the violin’s voice in surprising ways.
