We love featuring Raíces' delightful blend of Latin jazz and welcome them back to our stage. Founded by Rubin Alvarez and now led by vibraphonist Joe Sonnefeldt, their sound is reflective, in no small part, of the music of the great Cal Tjader’s groups in the 1950s and 60s. For this evening, Raíces will be performing all the music from Tjader’s iconic album Soul Sauce, which was released 60 years ago.
