Spring Ruckus
RULES:
10 minute round
Win, Lose, or Draw (No overtime, no advantages, no refs decision. Your job is to win.)
Major infractions:
No Slamming or Spiking.
No gouging the eyes.
No cuffing the ears.
No striking of any kind.
No pinching.
No biting.
No attacking/grabbing the groin.
Keep hands and fingers out of orifices (nose , mouth, fishhooking, oil checks? ) Mufflers and nose pinches ARE legal.
*Submissions will be applied in a controlled manner that allows for the opponent to submit. No fast or intentional breaks.*
Minor infractions:
Fleeing the mat in a submission. (Will be reset in the hold)
Failure to engage/timidity.
Stalling.
No attacking individual fingers.
*No gi: no grabbing opponents clothing.
1 warning for infractions at refs discretion.
Repeating a minor infraction is automatic DQ.
3rd distinct minor infraction automatic DQ.
Automatic DQ for major infractions.
White and Blue belts: No heel hooks, Toe holds, neck cranks, or spinelocks.
All others: Anything goes.
Wash your ass, trim your nails, wear clean gear.
No body oils or lotions.
Shirts are not required for No Gi.
Rope Breaks are in play. A grounded opponent may break a submission hold by grabbing the rope or hooking with the foot.
Handicaps:
Players must select a handicap at random. Handicaps will be drawn from a hat. 30 different handicaps are in play.
Double down: should a player wish to double their prize, they may double down by selecting two Handicaps. *applies to money matches only
*Draws do not count as wins. Your job is to win.
List of Handicaps:
1. MIGHT AS WELL SIT: No Takedowns, Throws, Trips, or Standing Submissions
2. No Armlocks
3. No leglocks
4. No chokes
5. DIVINE INTERVENTION: Opponent receives a Free Tapout and continues
6. No Standing Passing
7. No Sweeps (reversals allowed)
8. No attacking the opponents right side (no Sweeps to that side, no passing to that side, no submission attempts to that side)
9. No attacking the opponents left side (no Sweeps to that side, no passing to that side, no submission attempts to that side)
10. UNO REVERSE: once per match, when caught in a submission, opponent can yell 'REVERSE' and exchange places into the same submission.
11. No Full or Closed Guard
12. No Turtling (must exchange position within 3 seconds)
13. No half guard
14. No triangles
15. No anaconda or Darce
16. No guillotines
17. No RNC
18. Must finish with a paintbrush/americana
19. Must finish with an armlock
20. Must finish with a choke
21. No back control
22. Must finish with RNC
23. No twisting leg attacks (heelhook/toehold)
24. TELEPORT: Once a match opponent can yell "TELEPORT" from any position and recieve back control. (Can not be used while in a submission)
25. FLIP: once in the match your opponent can yell "FLIP!" and you are requires to trade top and bottom positions. (Can not be used while in a submission)
26. GET OUTTA JAIL: once in a match, opponent can yell "JAILBREAK". Action stops and both contestants return to standing reset. (Can not be used while in a submission)
27. GOLDEN TICKET: Opponent starts on your back. They automatically lose this position after 1 minute if you have not escaped. Standing reset.
28. MAT BULLY: Match starting position is chosen by the opponent. (Position, not submissions)
29. HAND-E-CAP: You may not use your dominant hand for 1 min at start of match. No grabbing or grips with that hand.
30. PAUSE: At any point in the match, your opponent can yell "PAUSE" and rest for 60 second while you do a minimum of 60 Jumping Jacks, 30 squats, or 20 burpies (opponents chice). Position is reset as it was when pause was initiated.
If you break your handicap, you opponent receives your prize even if you win. And you still have to abide by it.
Breaking your handicap 2x will result in a
MULTIPLE MATCH TYPES AVAILABLE
You and your opponent can do a basic sub-only nogi/gi match. Handicap required. Rope Breaks in play.
🪦 Catch-As-Catch-Can : 2 falls, pin or submission. 2, 10 min rounds. Rope breaks in play.
🪦 Tag Team: find a tag partner, 1 15min rnd. Tag in. Tag out. Tags break subs. 5 second in/out rule.
🪦 Money-Where-Your-Mouth-Is: Each opponent bring an agreed purse amount. Promoter matches 1/2 the total. Rope Breaks cost 1/4 purse to opponent. Buy out from a sub 1/2 purse yell "BUY". (This element can be added to any match)
🪦 Submission Shootout: 10 min match, most subs wins. Tap and go again til 10 min expires.
🪦 Sprint: 5 min rnd. First sub sets the timer. Reset and go again but opponent now has that time limit to submit you. If they fail, you win. If they succeed you have to beat their time. Fastest sub wins.
Playing to the crowd is encouraged. Good natured trash talk is acceptable. There will be kids so please don't be exceedingly vulgar or profane. PG13 kinda stuff. Play the heel. Play the face. We're here to have fun and compete under a unique and growing rules set.
