About this Event
Welcome to QYCS: Introduction to AYA Cancer Workshop!
Join us in person for a fun and engaging introduction to Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer. The Introduction to AYA Cancer Workshop offers participants a comprehensive introduction to the unique experiences, challenges, and needs of adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
Throughout the session, attendees will gain insight into the role of the Queensland Youth Cancer Service (QYCS), hear from our Youth Advisory Group, and explore key clinical and psychosocial considerations that shape care for young people aged 15–25.
The program brings together expert presenters to discuss adolescent development, common AYA cancers, fertility preservation, and the importance of holistic, youth‑centred support. Designed to strengthen understanding and enhance practice across multidisciplinary teams, this workshop provides a valuable opportunity to deepen knowledge, reflect on best‑practice approaches, and contribute to improved outcomes for young people navigating cancer.
