About this Event
This is an exciting opportunity for people in Bradford to learn and practice the creative application of the traditional art form of Quranic Illumination. We are running free taster workshops for people who may be interested in participating in a six month project to produce an illuminated double page artwork to be exhibited at Cartwright Hall, Bradford.
All paints and craft materials for the taster sessions will be provided. The session will run for 3 hours and you will be able to enroll in the full course at the end if you wish.
Enrollment on the full Quranic Illumination project will require a commitment over 6 months. There are breaks incorporated into the schedule , sessions take place twice-weekly. The cost of the course is subsided by Amal and participants are asked to contribute £100 towards the cost of materials only. If this is a barrier for you but you would like to be involved, please let us know by emailing [email protected].
Free parking and disabled access is available at the Westgate Mosque (Bradford city centre).
Workshops are open for people from all faiths, genders and abilities. Please dress modestly because the workshops are held in a venue that is also a place of worship.
