A weekend of Contact Improvisation training, experimentation & play co-facilitated by *Harriet Roberts & Asher Levin (*please see note at the end regarding the original co-teacher, David Basak).
Open to Contacters with a grounding in CI, wishing to explore a range of possibilities with shared weight, dynamic & tender movement and dance
In the workshop, we'll deepen our perceptions of close dance and our bodies in space. There will be new approaches to known pathways (and unknown pathways explored), opening fresh sensations and broadening vocabulary.
With adventures to fresh realms where somatic attention may lead us...
In a lovely, large, bright venue, with sprung floor, in the heart of Bristol
Price**: £110 / £85 / £135 as you feel fair and right for you.
If you are not able to make the whole weekend, 1 Day tickets are also available!
**We have a few supported places for professional Contacters, students and those in financial need, please email if this is for you.
Places are limited to 28 participants.

Asher and Harriet are based in South Devon .
Harriet's brief Biog:
Continuously asking where she can next dance Contact Improvisation; Harriet has travelled extensively in search of hubs, homes and bodies researching CI. She has supported and taught within a variety of residencies dedicated to the form as well as festival, workshop, and university settings. Harriet is also trained in contemporary dance. She works as a doula, dancer and hands-on therapist.
Asher's brief Biog:
Asher loves being and interacting with the land and elements. He’s been practicing Contact Improvisation, physical theatre, teaching and leading workshops for a quarter-century. He's taught CI internationally since 2008. In CI, play and being, he loves the practice of trusting ourselves and others - even within the unknown, and re-seeing the known afresh for the first time. He loves old friends too. He finds CI explorations - of being off-balance and free, yet focused and caring - to be liberating and enriching. Currently Asher is particularly interested in the interplay of spaciousness, group, self and intimacy, dynamic, tenderness and finding unusual approaches or variations to the well-known.
*Sadly, due to injury, David Basak is not able to co-teach on this ‘Quirky CI’ weekend. When he’s fully healed, we look forward to again enjoying his wonderful teachings and shared practice!
