My main goal is to help build a self-sufficient and confident athlete. During this out and back on the Glacial Drumlin Trail starting at Rotary Park in Lake Mills on a Friday evening we’ll get right to the core. On this hopefully Brrr-ish December night, it’s a given time to test that Golden tool belt. The only aid station will be at the turn around point, so 15.5ish sMiles. I have recently decided to allow a drop bag roughly mid-point of the turnaround. There will also be a restroom of sorts here. Maybe….but pretty sure 🙃. The drop bags will be shuttled over for you. So, one at about mile 7 (then again at mile 24 some) and another allowed at the turnaround.
There is no outside help, crew or pacers allowed. It’s to the turn around and back, handled mostly Soulo. Mandatory gear checks will be done with required checking in and out at the turnaround.
Our halfway point will be at the Western terminus of the Glacial Drumlin Trail in Cottage Grove. Warm food, volunteers and cheers will be there to fill you back up and send you back to your car. We have a meeting this Friday with the DNR and another July 17th with a parks department. Permits are already handled we just are confirming details.
It’s Quiet out and Silence on the way back. 💤💤💤Obviously not total silence, just a gentle way for us to remember to be respectful of the sleeping communities we are traveling through late at night and into the early morning 🥱😴💤💤💤.
Registration opens tonight (July 3rd at 11:59pm) - https://runsignup.com/Race/WI/LakeMills/QuietSilence50k
