About this Event
Quest for a Cure is a public education event hosted by the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center. Through Quest for a Cure, we aim to involve and engage anyone whose life has been touched by cancer and wants to learn more about the disease. Topics include different cancer types and related cancer issues.
Our Quest for a Cure series of monthly talks include researchers from the UH Cancer Center, clinician partners from our oncology community, and cancer survivors and/or caregivers who will be sharing their cancer stories. This year, our overall goal of this talk series is to empower those going through their cancer journeys with information and resources so they can ask their vital questions, reach out to others for support, and be more in control of their path forward. Light refreshments will be served during the mingle time with our speakers and event attendees.
This 1st of 3 monthly talks will feature the following speakers:
- Shane Morita, MD, MBA, PhD, FACS, medical director of surgical oncology at The Queen’s Medical Center and assistant researcher at University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center
- Brenda Hernandez, PhD, MPH, researcher at the University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center
