Please allot additional time to enter Fort Shafter. New security access requirements have been instituted at Fort Shafter. If you have a DoD CAC, you can enter and escort others in your vehicle onto the base. If you have a Fort Shafter DBIDS (other installations not accepted), you can enter but cannot escort others in your vehicle unless they have a CAC or DBIDS.

The Fort Shafter Pass and ID Office is closed. You will need to pick up a one-day pass at the Tripler's Pass and ID Office if you don’t have a DoD CAC, Fort Shafter DBIDS, or will be riding with someone with a DOD CAC. Please plan for extra time if you need to pick up a one-day pass at Tripler. Please bring your driver's license, and vehicle registration and insurance.

Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) focuses on compact, mixed-use development within ¼ to ½ mile, or a five to ten-minute walk of a rail station, taking advantage of and helping build transit ridership thereby creating more options for where we live and how we travel. The ability to walk, bike, and use transit for our daily travel needs can also reduce household transportation costs and our dependence on the automobile. Learn about the mix of housing choices, employment and commercial opportunities, and new recreational spaces being considered for the rail stations near JBPHH.
