Queer Screen, brought to you by Allianz presents: A friend of Dorothy
As part of the Sydney Mardi Gras season, InsurePride invites our community to come together for a special cultural night celebrating queer storytelling on screen.
We’re delighted to offer InsurePride members access to an exclusive screening of A Friend of Dorothy and other queer shorts, presented by Queer Screen.
The headline short, A Friend of Dorothy, stars Miriam Margolyes and Stephen Fry, and tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a lonely widow and a teenage boy after a football lands in her garden. The film was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the 2026 Academy Awards, making this a particularly special Mardi Gras screening.
Before the screening, guests are invited to enjoy pre-drinks and connection, with entertainment from Ivory Glaze, superstar of Drag Race Down Under, bringing some extra sparkle to the evening ✨
