About this Event
QUEER NIGHT OUT: Big Dadcore Energy
The unofficial, highly unregulated soft launch to summer
We’re kicking off summer with Big Dadcore Energy. It’s giving cargo shorts, socks with sandals, cold drinks, and a daddy who says “I got the grill," and means it. You can still expect a welcoming space to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and just exist comfortably in community.
This Queer Night Out celebrates all forms of “dad energy,” from backyard brisket bears to soft masc heartthrobs, femme daddies, zaddies, and anyone ready to throw on a visor and crack a beer (or a seltzer, because we’re inclusive).
What to expect:
- Refreshing summer drinks + the chillest of chill vibes
- A playlist that screams yacht rock, Americana, classic rock, 90s throwbacks, and any music your dad would bop to
- A space to be unserious, unbothered, aggressively welcoming, and a little bit sweaty
HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT: The Daddywalk Competition
Step aside, Fashion Week. Forget the catwalk... we’re taking it to the patio. Break out those jorts, New Balances, and baseball caps, and serve up that Daddywalk! We want to see your Dad Drag, some of that Grill Daddy Realness, a lil Suburban Fantasy, Adam Sandler Chic, Apron Eleganza and those Backyard Baddie looks.
Bring friends or make new ones. Icebreakers and games are on tables for self-led activities. Hang with your crew, or introduce yourself to new folks and invite them to sit with you. Drinks, mocktails, and food available for purchase.
We stan a welcome environment and want every gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture, neurotype, and ally to feel welcome in this space.
New to QNO: Color Bracelet Activity
Guests grab bracelets based on interests (books, fandoms, games, etc.). Bracelets = invitation to connect, not obligation.
While traffic light parties often focus on dating, our color-coded bracelets are about shared interests and building community, whether that’s friendship or just a good conversation.
Your donation will not include any food or beverages at Queer Night Out. Donations go towards Queerli's nonprofit operational costs, future events, and our new initiative to provide financial assistance for LGBTQIA+ community members in need facing socioeconomic barriers to gender affirming care, second-parent adoption, legal name changes, or relocation from unaffirming homes.
$5 - 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This amount allows us to sustain our events and cover operational costs.
$10 - 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻: This amount is for those in our communities who can afford to give a little extra, supporting us as we work to offer more experiences and safer spaces for the LGBTQIA+ communities.
$1 - 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: This end of the scale is for folks who are experiencing financial hardship and would benefit from the support of the community. Queerli events should be accessible to all people, regardless of finances, and we never want money to be a barrier to your attendance. If this tier is not accessible for you, enter an amount outside of the scale that is sustainable for you or contact us via email ([email protected]) or DM @queerli.safespace. No one will be turned away due to a lack of funds.
