Join us for the launch of the Queer Histories/Queer Futures audio tour podcast, documenting the collective histories of LGBTQIA+ organising, activism and community in Merri-bek.
Featuring a catered picnic, panel discussion and all-ages arts workshop to celebrate the launch of this groundbreaking community history project. All are welcome, bring a picnic rug.
From pubs to squats, protests to parties, discover Merri-bek’s queer history as told by the people who shaped it.
The tour will be available to listen to after the launch. The tour can be experienced via the 3CR website (where you will find a transcript of all episodes), your podcast app of choice and the Echoes app. Full details including a printed map will be provided on the night.
Queer Histories/Queer Futures is a Lee Ellis working group project of Merri-bek Libraries, produced by 3CR Community Radio. Launch event in collaboration with Arts Merri-bek. Presented as part of Midsumma Festival.
Accessibility information
Michelle Guglielmo Park has two entry points from Sydney Rd. The event will take place on the stage at the rear of the park with seating provided around the stage and picnic blankets on the grass area.
