Free Pop-up Art show featuring local queer artists from Miami Beach! Join us for the third volume of Queer Easels and support 2 new artists as they make their debut into the art world. Special thanks to the Gaythering for their continual support of our events and the Queer community in Miami Beach!
Carlos Martinez studied architecture in North Carolina and moved to South Florida to design and build homes. His art characteristically combines figures and the elements to evoke transcendence. His creative process involves loose strokes that slowly begin to form an image rather than starting with a specific image in mind. You can find him at martinez_carlos_ on Instagram
Tony "Miz Tonya" is a jack of all trades! Drag queen, Bartender and up and coming queer artist. Tony works in charcoal, pen, pencil and digital work. In drag and art, they invoke a darker side of the queer world, often dawning and drawing horns on their subjects and drawing with intensity - using heavy blacks and red tones to create fantastical portraits. Patrick Louis is the organizer of Queer Easels and a local artist and scuba diver. His main inspirations are fish and men from our underwater backyard and queer life in South Florida. He has been practicing underwater photography since childhood and started adding layers of acrylic paint to his photographs for about a decade to bring awareness to the sea life surrounding South Florida and the Caribbean. 5% of his sales are donated to the Coral Restoration Foundation which works to restore the coral reefs off the coast of Florida.
