Beat the winter's loneliness, isolation, or boredom by joining us in community to get crafty and appreciate the power of 3rd spaces in community health and wellness. Jasper Community Habitat for the Arts is one of Jasper's few 3rd spaces* and we're thrilled to have their generous support of our weekly Queer Craft Night. The Habitat is located on the second floor of the Jasper Library building. Bring your own craft (BYO-C) and gather in community to work on your projects together. A member of the Jasper Pride Festival Society board will be hosting this inclusive event. Please reach out to [email protected] if you need support getting a craft started or have questions about attending this event.
January 18th is canceled: Just a reminder, Jasper folks, that Queer Craft Night at Habitat for the Arts is taking a break this week. Elena will be back hosting on the 25th. See you then!
*3rd spaces are (defined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg) social environments outside of home (1st) and work (2nd) where people gather informally to build community, relax, and connect. Ideally 3rd spaces don't require financial capacity and space is available to participants of all economic realities.
