Learn to Knit & Crochet with Mountain Pride and Maker & Stitch
Have you ever wanted to learn to knit or crochet? Looking for a way to express your creativity that’s both beautiful and functional? Join us for a relaxing and fun-filled afternoon where we’ll explore the art of knitting and crocheting together for free!
Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, fiber arts can be a great way to practice mindfulness, relieve stress, and build confidence. Knitting and crocheting are known to promote inner peace by acting as a calming activity, helping to reduce heart rates and lower anxiety levels. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands—like a washcloth—in just one sitting!
Our event will be held generously at Maker & Stitch, located in Edwards, on Oct. 26th, at 10:30 am, and in the evening on Nov. 7th & Dec. 10th at 5:30PM. This private group session will feature experienced instructors Chris & Sofia, who both identify as queer and bring over 40 years of combined experience in knitting and crocheting.
Yarn will be provided by Maker & Stitch, and needles or hooks will be supplied by Mountain Pride, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm. Whether you’re crafting your first project or adding new skills, this event is a wonderful opportunity to unwind, connect with others, and embrace sweater weather!
Our diverse community of fiber artists ranges in age from 15 to 90 and celebrates all identities—cisgender, gender-fluid, queer, straight, and everything in between. All are welcome to join us in this inclusive space.
