Join Lavender Lens and Charis Books & More for a film screening of Outlaw (1994), by Alisa Lebow. Raw and confrontational, this documentary follows Leslie Feinberg, a self-identified "gender outlaw", as ze speaks with passion and intelligence about zir experiences.
About the film
Leslie Feinberg, a self-identified "gender outlaw" who has spent much of zir life passing as a man, speaks with passion and intelligence about zir experiences in this film manifesto. Raw and confrontational, this film asks its audience to examine their assumptions about the "nature" of gender and calls for more sensitivity and awareness of the human rights and the dignity of transgendered people. Feinberg is the author of (Firebrand), an account of a working-class lesbian who passes as a man.

- We will begin seating people at 6:30pm ET. Seating is limited & RSVP-ing does not reserve/ensure you will get a seat, so come early to grab a seat!

Accessibility
Charis has both stairs and an elongated ramp at the entrance. Accessible parking is to the left of the building. Charis Books is a fully wheelchair accessible space with on site van accessible parking, two ramps, and additional overflow accessible parking nearby. Most of our shelves are on wheels and can be moved to provide additional access. The insides are all level and flat with ramps to access various areas of the space. Our bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and gender neutral with motion activated fixtures. Both bathrooms have wheelchair accessible baby changing tables. Our directional signs are written in braille.
