'Que for the Kids

Please join us for the ninth annual ‘Que for the Kids Benefiting the Carolina Hunger Initiative. This year’s event will be held in honor of beloved professor and founder of Eats 101, Jim Ferguson. The event will take place on March 24th from 6:00-8:00pm on the Graham Memorial terrace.

'Que for the Kids is a student-organized fundraiser event benefiting the Carolina Hunger Initiative at UNC. Proceeds from the event will go toward increasing access to healthy school meals for kids in need, supporting nutrition education programs for 3rd to 5th graders, and strengthening critical summer programs that provide free meals for kids. In addition, this year some of the proceeds will go toward helping college students experiencing food insecurity access SNAP benefits. Learn more about this work at CarolinaHungerInitiative.org.

This event will feature whole hog barbecue from chef and Eats 101 alumnus, Holden Sasser of Union Barbecue, UNC’s own Alice Ammerman will be serving her famous ‘Heart Healthy Hushpuppies’ and the event will feature dishes from a variety of local restaurants. In addition, the event will feature live music and various other campus entertainers along with a silent auction and presentations on the impact of Carolina Hunger Initiative and the partners they work with across the state.
